I've had the product for over a year, worked completely fine until recently where I decided to wipe the lens with a lightly wet towel as the lens started to get dirty at this point. Before wiping, I made sure to drain the battery as there wasn't much power left. After I was done giving this a quick cleaning since it only gets dirty around the tip, takes about 10 seconds to do so, I dried it off and then proceeded to recharge it. When I went to check if the camera needed a second wiping or not encase I missed anything, it was completely blurry. Decided to give it another wipe and it still had that issue. After a week, I decided to check on my ears, camera was a lot less blurry compared to last time, but has yet to improve beyond that. Disappointed to find out that it was not water proof at all, I plan to order a second one, but will definitely use an alcohol wipe to avoid damage a product that claimed to be waterproof when I order another scope.I have chronic earwax buildup. This helps a lot.I am VERY PLEASED with this product! As someone who has struggled with Dermatillomania (aka excoriation disorder or compulsive skin picking disorder) since before I can remember, I was a little hesitant to purchase this product because I didn’t want to exacerbate my compulsive ear cleaning habits. But I took into consideration the MANY sleepless, anxious nights during which I spent hours trying to clear my ears of the “blockage” that I was convinced was there, and then cleaning my ear canals only to discover that I wasn’t picking out a blockage, but the actual skin of my inner ear canal (which made sense in retrospect, considering the relatively large amount of blood that accompanied the “blockage” aka skin). And I figured that being able to actually SEE what I was trying to clean would be beneficial in avoiding another night spent scraping all the skin out of my ear canals for fear of there being a blockage or bug inside my ear.I LOVE that I can see everything inside my ear, that I can identify the parts of my eardrum and confirm that there is no nefarious blockage in my ears.There are two downsides to this product, but honestly I wasn’t expecting much from an otoscope that costs under $35.#1.) It is much easier to see your ear canal WITHOUT the spoon attachment. The spoon ends up distorting the light a bit and making it harder to see than without the attachment.And #2.) The video quality is decent, however the photo quality could be improved. The image that I see in the video does not match the image that is saved to my photo library. But this is easily fixed by just taking a screenshot on your phone of the image you want to save.Overall, I am very pleased that I picked this product as my introduction to self-otoscopy. I appreciate the ability to flip the camera view 180 degrees and the fact that the product comes with 4 spoons, so you have extras in case any are accidentally misplaced (which could happen easily since they are clear). The product is easy to clean and it charged quickly. And I don’t know how I missed this aspect, but there is an option to disinfect your ear with a blue UVC light!!! Which is AWESOME!!!This purchase was the best $33 I’ve EVER spent. Now that I can see in my ear, I can’t fall into my hyper-fixation about a possible blockage or bug living in my ear and I will no longer be blindly scraping the skin and subsequent blood from my ear canals. I thoroughly enjoy being able to see inside my ear from a science/anatomy perspective and I am very pleased with the disinfecting light option.I like this product but I sometimes get dizzy using it. Also pen gets warm if it’s on for a while. I can see it being dangerous if you don’t have steady hands; you have to be very careful. Picture quality is good on my iPad but sometimes lags. It’s efficient because you can see all the gunk in your ears and clean it all out- way more efficient than cottons swabs. It’s also less wasteful than a one time use cotton swab. May take some practice to use at first. Make sure the screen is right side up (apps on bottom of screen facing upward) otherwise it will get confusing and you’ll get dizzy. Once you get the hang it of it’s great- will never go back to cotton swabs!Side note: I Initially didn’t know how to use it properly so I gave a 3star review and the company kept emailing me that they’d give me gift card if i removed my review. I think it’s misleading for customers and didn’t take the bribe money. I told them I’m not removing my review, However I recently learned how to use it properly and ended up liking it, hence the updated better review. Just keep in mind that they remove bad reviews.I am a gadget lover! And I must say that this is one of the coolest gadgets I have ever bought! It's primarily marketed for cleaning your ears, and it does quite a good job of it. But there are so many things that you can use it for. If there's no one else around to help you out, it's really great for checking out places that you can't see any other way, like your nose and the top of your head on your scalp or if you just get a bug bite on your back and you want to see how bad it is. So many things! I can also use it on my dogs and their ears. And if you're looking for something behind a piece of furniture that's hard to reach this could also come in handy then. I've lost things down in drains that I think if I'd have had this thing I might could have retrieved them, like rings and contact lenses. I was a little nervous about buying this because I had read in some reviews about people losing the scoop in their ear, but those were very rare accounts and I found that the Scoops attach very tightly, so I don't really think it's a major concern. And the price on this is ridiculously reasonable, so I figured I would go ahead and pull the trigger and I am glad that I did. You will be too I'm pretty sure!
