This is a fairly complete wireless microphone kit.It comes with cables for connecting to phones, computers, and cameras. There is also a cable that allows you to hook into an XLR system. The kit I received has 1 transmitter / microphone and 1 receiver, but there is another kit you can get that has 2 transmitter / microphones if you’re into doing interviews or something along those lines. The kit also comes with a nice carrying case to keep everything in.Set up is extremely simple, as the units were paired and charged out of the box. Literally all I had to do was plug the receiver into my camera and push the power button on each device and they were working.Adjusting your gain is simple, and you can check your audio and battery levels on the handy little screen that is on the receiver. There is also a headphone jack on the receiver if you’d like to monitor your audio in real time.The battery life on the units seems to be pretty good. I have used them for a couple of hours, and I am not even at half battery yet.I have tested the system with both the transmitter’s internal microphone and the lav mic that is included with the kit, and found both mics to have acceptable audio quality. It is certainly going to sound better than any internal audio that is recorded from a camera that is any sort of distance away from you.I did perform a distance test in my backyard and the microphone held a steady signal up to 150 feet (the furthest away I could get in my yard). Some tips for getting the most distance: make sure there is line-of-sight between the transmitter and receiver, and make sure you have the antennas extended on both units. If the sight line between the two units is blocked and the antennas are not extended the distance the signal will travel drops significantly.All in all, this seems like a good wireless mic set up that is easy to use and comes with a good amount of accessories / connectivity options, and a nice little case to store it all in. You should be able to get good audio with it, and you don’t have to deal with all the cables or being tethered to your camera.
